Our President
President Tom McGowan has worked
for more than 40 years in technical and business pursuits. These include
process/project engineering, development of new processes, system design,
process safety, sales, marketing, personnel recruitment and training, project
management, and profit & loss responsibility. His primary focus has
been on new and emerging markets.
Tom opened and staffed
Atlanta offices for three firms and procured multimillion-dollar projects,
including contract review and negotiation of terms and conditions. He purchased
and has run operations involving multimillion-dollar thermal treatment systems.
In addition is a specialist in Superfund and UST thermal treatment services.
Tom's credentials
include a Masters degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech and
Bachelors and Masters degrees in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College.
He is a registered engineer in Georgia and several other states and is OSHA
1910.120 HAZWOPER certified.
Holder of US patent No. 4,601,730, Tom has contributed to Perry’s Chemical Engineers’ Handbook, 8th ed., 2007, and the McGraw Hill Standard Handbook of Hazardous Waste Treatment and Disposal, 2nd ed., 1997. He was the primary author of NOx Control for Stationary Sources, AWMA, 1995, and editor of Biomass and Alternate Fuel Systems, John Wiley & Sons/AIChE, 2009. He has authored numerous papers and journal and magazine articles on energy, pollution control, waste treatment, thermal processes and solids handling, and received Chemical Engineering Magazine's 2010 CE Personal Achievement Award.
