What we do for our clients...
We have a reputation for quickly understanding our clients' needs, simplifying the complex, and getting the job done. Examples of our work follow:
- A client tripled production after we revamped controls, modified an oxidizer and improved the downstream air pollution control system. In addition to adding production capacity, the improvements reduced emissions.
- Using water injection, plus low oxygen firing, reduced NOx 60% on high temp minerals kilns, reduced fuel cost by $1MM per year, and improved product quality.

- A Superfund services client eliminated daily four-hour shutdowns due to lime fouling of high-temperature quench nozzles. Via mechanical redesign of spray lances and use of sequestering agents, we extended the work cycle to a week and reduced downtime for nozzle change out to a half-hour.

- A corporate engineer told us "We thought we understood combustion before you worked for us, but now we really understand what is going on with the process."
- A client had failed for particulates on a stack test of coal carbonization process vent. A low cost lab test showed that the particulates were "pseudo particulates" made in the sample train and did not exist in the stack. As a result, the client was allowed to install a simple, low cost flare rather than a thermal oxidizer, and no particulate control was needed.

- A client had a $2,000,000 quote for an oxidizer plus liquid injection combustor for high nitrogen waste. TMTS rewrote the spec, simplified the flow sheet, and generated a competitive bid situation. The result – a quote for $500,000, and successful completion and startup of the project by the bidder.
- Resolved emissions and capacity issues on an asphalt plant via a low cost non-compliance stack test and analysis of baghouse issues.
- Performed initial troubleshooting and analysis of defective Soil Vapor Extraction catalytic VOC oxidizer, then produced performance specification for purchase of replacement thermal/recuperative unit, and provided oversight of installation and successful startup and testing.
- Produced root cause determination of plugging of mission critical ducts on orbiting spacecraft, then designed, fabricated and oversaw testing of prototype filters to prevent reoccurrence.
- Solved high CO problems on oxidizer by troubleshooting instrumentation and controls.
- Performed multiple treatability studies at lab and bench scale to reduce risk for clients and equipment vendors, and speed design work on thermal projects.
